Big Reading Challenge

Please support our Big Reading Challenge

Nottingham City Council is once again taking on a challenge to raise funds for the Imagination Library.

We are aiming to raise more than £5,000 for the Imagination Library.

Graphic 2From Monday 22 November to Friday 26 November 2021, City Councillors including the Leader of the Council, Cllr David Mellen and Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People, Cllr Cheryl Barnard will be reading stories to local children to schools, nurseries, and libraries across the city as well as visiting a few extra-special locations too!

Your sponsorship can make a real difference.

The Imagination Library is proven to improve children’s literacy levels. By getting books, our children are more likely to be ready to start school when they turn five.

There are more than 5,000 Nottingham children registered with the Imagination Library scheme, and we’ve seen over 3,000 children graduate.  In total over 347,000 books have been delivered so far, but we want to do more!

Give the gift of reading, and help Nottingham children fulfil their potential.

Partners in Nottingham are working together to make sure every Nottingham child can get these fantastic books delivered to their home each month, but we need to raise funds to make this happen.

Every little helps:

  • £2 pays for a local child to get a new book
  • £25 pays for a new book each month for a year
  • £125 pays for a book every month from birth to age five

Together, let’s give the children of Nottingham the best start in life.
